Frequently Asked Questions

How do I determine the size of my dog for pricing?

I don’t base size on weight or coat. Instead, I look at your dog’s overall build, height, and how much space they take up during grooming.

For example, dogs like Chihuahuas and Yorkies are typically small, Beagles and Cocker Spaniels are usually medium, and Labradors and Golden Retrievers are considered large.

If you’re unsure, send me your dog’s breed (or mix) and a photo and I can help answer this question for you!

I have a matted dog, but I want them to stay fluffy. What is possible?

If your dog’s coat is matted, a fluffy style usually isn’t possible. For your dog’s comfort and safety, I do not brush out matting, as this can be painful and stressful. Instead, matting must be removed by clipping the coat shorter. Once the coat grows back, we can absolutely work toward a fluffy style with regular grooming and proper at-home maintenance. I’m happy to recommend a schedule to help keep your dog mat-free moving forward!

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

I understand that things come up and schedules can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask that you give as much notice as possible.

Clients who miss an appointment without notice (no-show) will be required to pay 50% of the missed grooming service before booking again. A second no-show will result in the inability to schedule future appointments.

Do you accept walk-ins?

I do not typically accept walk-ins, as appointments are scheduled in advance to ensure each dog receives proper time and care. However, I may be able to accommodate same-day or timely appointments for quick services such as nail trims or similar services, depending on availability.

Do you charge extra for matting?

Yes. Dogs with matting require additional time and care, so there is a $15 matting fee added to the grooming service. This helps cover the extra work needed to safely and comfortably remove the mats.

Do you kennel dogs or are they one-on-one?

I typically do not kennel dogs during grooming and aim to keep their experience as calm and one-on-one as possible. However, if a dog repeatedly attempts to mark indoors or has multiple bathroom accidents, they may be safely kenneled after their grooming service is complete until pickup.

Can I stay with my dog during its appointment?

No. For safety and to help your dog stay calm and focused, I do not allow owners to stay during the grooming appointment. Having the owner present can be distracting for the dog, so I find they do best when they can focus fully on the grooming process.

Do you accept anxious or aggressive dogs?

Anxious dogs are welcome and often do well in a calm, one-on-one grooming environment. However, if a dog becomes aggressive or unsafe to handle during the appointment, the grooming will be stopped and the dog will be sent home, with the full grooming fee still applied. I do not accept aggressive dogs for grooming services.

What if my dog has fleas or ticks?

If fleas are found, a $10 cleaning fee will be applied to help cover the extra sanitation required. Ticks are removed at no additional charge unless there is a heavy infestation; in those cases, a $10 fee will also apply.

Yes. I use a variety of high-quality professional shampoos and conditioners, allowing me to customize the bath based on your dog’s skin needs.

Do you express anal glands?

No, I do not express anal glands. This is a medical procedure that should be performed by a veterinarian or trained veterinary professional if needed.

What happens if I'm late picking up my dog?

If you’re more than 30 minutes late for pickup, a $10 fee will be applied. After that, an additional $10 will be charged for every 15 minutes past the initial 30-minute window. Because I operate on a one-on-one grooming schedule, late pickups can interfere with the next scheduled client and disrupt the day’s appointments.
